Found these incredible mixed media works by American artist Alexander Girard via the superb fly . I'm tempted to do this to the thousands of old photographs that are gathering dust in my grandparents' home. More here.

Alexander Girard played no small part in the history of Indian Design.
ReplyDeleteIt was at his 1954 exhibition on Textiles and Ornamental Arts of India that Pupul Jayakar met the Eameses. It was Girard who recommended Charles Eames to Pupul Jayakar, and the rest is history. Ms. Jayakar got the Indian Government to invite Charles Eames to India: a visit that resulted in the Eames India Report and ultimately, the creation of the National Institute of Design.
