Tsunami Scrolls.



I found these Patachitra scroll interpretations of the Dec '04 Tsunami disaster to be oddly endearing in it's childlike rendering of animated trams & helicopters. The artist is unknown but theres more info at the source for the intrigued.

    I recently attended a talk by NY professor, Geraldine Forbes on the Pats from Bengal at the Gandhi Memorial Center near DC. It was very interesting to know how these artists, inspired by legends and current day events, portrayed their interpretations of the stories or incidents. The stories that are sung with these Pats adds to the paintings.
