Photographer Waswo X. Waswo (whose name I find so pleasing in it's symetry) was born Richard Waswo in Wisconson in 1953 . After traveling the world extensively , he decided to settle down in India in the early 90s. He is known for his exquisite yet humorous sepia toned images of India. These hand coloured b&w photographs are from his latest series titled , A Studio in Rajastan . More here.
these are hilarious, nostalgic and whimsical. but above all the photos are unique. i sometimes wonder if it is usually the outsiders and their perspective on india who shake me up and make me notice my own country's charms.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting:-)

Priya,
ReplyDeleteI've always felt this. Sometimes, when I am immersed in a new culture , I often notice things that the locals overlook, so I suspect it's the same for us?
Arch : Yeah , check out the source ! Gorgeous work.
