Does anybody know what these are?

I saw these at the Oxford Bookstore and asked the manager where it was from & all he could figure out was that he thought it was from Delhi. I think it's the same style of painting seen on trucks? Somebody enlighten me.

  2. Fixed it. They're multicoloured teapots, hope you weren't expecting something terribly snazzy :P

  3. If it was the same style as truck paintings, I'd say that there could be some influences from West Punjab and NWFP. I see that their trucks seem to be more elaborately decorated than our own Indian trucks. Just a guess, thats all.

First timer here. Am looking around :)

  4. Hello Anantha,

Thanks for stopping by :) It's always good to see a fellow Chennaite (although I prefer to call it Madras) come by.

About the teapot, my mum claims it's Nepalese in origin, not too sure how authentic that claim is. If that was the deal then my bet is that it was probably painted locally in Delhi using the trucks for inspiration .
