These are images taken by Magdalena Rzymanek during her trip to India . They're taken on a holga or a 'toy camera' . A Holga is basically an inexpensive camera that was manufactured in Hong Kong for the working class. It's low fidelity frame makes for interesting images because of accidental light leaks .The holga's plastic lens creates a blurry , dreamy effect . The camera actually saturates natural colour to produce a very colour intensive image.I love the squarish shape of images too. In a nutshell , it's my soulmate camera (if there ever was such a thing) . Oh how I want one for my birthday .

These are such beautiful images! Who could have imagined that these have been taken using a toy camera!
ReplyDeleteBhavna,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, It's not an actual toy camera (oxymoron?) , the Holga, along with the Diana & Lomo are called toy cameras because of their plastic bodies & inexpensive cost. Their low quality make actually turned out to be great because of the surreal images they take.
